Yook-sib-ryung tunnel is double-bored and double-lane of 3.11km length tunnel connecting Jeon-book Jang-soo-goon and Kyung-nam Ham-yang-goon. Tube directed to Dae-jun is negative gradient sloped and designed to equipped with jet-fan for ventilation. And opposite direction tunnel is upward going and planed to install E.P + jet-fan but during the construction, short tunnel is found nearby so the design is changed to use that tunnel as a ventilation shaft and jet-fan ventilation system.

Ventilation equipment installation will be carried out by 2 steps. In the opening of tunnel in 2001, only step 1 ventilation equipments will be constructed and according to increase of traffic volume or regulation changing, the 2nd Step is going to be taken.

In the beginning of design, the lights in the tunnel were planed to installed on wall side but because of the change of the guideline of light installation, they are hanged on the tunnel ceiling.

This study analyzed wall roughness coefficient change due to changing light installation and validated the ventilation system with comparing the theoretical and measured pressure rise of jet-fan and in ventilation shaft.
